(Page 2)

Click Next.

We now need to insert the Windows Server 2003 install media.  After inserted click OK if the Windows components don’t start installing automatically.

We receive a warning.  We now need to insert the DDC_VDA.iso DVD again.  Click OK.

The system needs to reboot.  The setup routine should resume when we logon after the reboot.  Click Yes.

Another reboot may be required.  Click Yes.

Make sure Configure AD and Start License Management Console are checked and click Finish.

Click Next.

We now need to select the OU to place the farm objects.  Click Browse.

Choose an OU and click OK.

I will simply create the objects in this OU so I’ll click Next.

Click Finish.

Verify that the objects were created successfully in AD, then click Close.

Click Yes.

Click Next.

Keep everything checked and click Next.

Click Add Local Computer, then click Next.

In the Delivery Services Console on the left side under Desktop Delivery Controller right click the farm name and select Farm Properties from the menu.

Under properties on the left highlight License Server and type the name or IP of the license server, in this case it is this server.  Click OK, then minimize the Delivery Services Console.  The License Management Console should already be running.  If not, go to Start > All Programs > Citrix > Management Consoles > License Management Console.

Click “Step 2: Copy license file to this license server”.

Now browse for the XenDesktop license file.  The express edition includes the license file inside the downloadable zip archive along with the install program.  Click Upload.

Click Current Usage, the XenDesktop license should now be installed.
